ABOUT THIS GUIDE

London is worth
a closer look.

London is one of the world’s great cities. Its culture, history and entertainment should be open to everyone.

You should be able to learn something, see something extraordinary and spend time with people you care about without having a lot of money. London for a Tenner brings together places and experiences that make that possible.

A tenner means £10 in British English. Every recommendation here costs £10 or less for the activity, usually per adult or listener. A fiver is £5. Many of our ideas are completely free.

Explore the city through guides for friends, dates, outdoor days, art, music and history. Each recommendation explains why you might enjoy it, what it costs and what to know before you go.

How it started

Cobble began with a belief that discovering London should be fascinating and affordable. While researching other low-cost experiences around the city, we kept wanting a resource organised a particular way: a good small museum near here; something for two people that actually fits the budget; something interesting when there is only an hour to spare.

So Cobble Media created London for a Tenner. We bring those choices together and give you enough practical information to make a plan.

Who publishes the guide?

London for a Tenner is published by Cobble Media, which also makes Cobble’s audio experiences. That relationship is stated across the site. Cobble products are named in the recommendations, with the publisher relationship explained on their activity pages and in our editorial information.

What earns a place?

A worthwhile experience, an honest price and a useful fit for the question. Organisations do not pay to be included. Most of the recommendations here are museums, galleries, gardens and other experiences made by people outside Cobble.

We link to our sources, date our checks and welcome corrections. A good guide should become more accurate as people use it.
