ABOUT THIS GUIDE

How we choose
and check.

Useful recommendations need clear prices, practical detail and an honest explanation of who is making them.

Editorial selection

Listings are selected editorially. Organisations do not pay for inclusion, a higher position or an organisation-verification indicator. We consider what the experience offers, its price, its fit for a particular plan and the quality of available practical information.

Guide order reflects the question being answered. We explain why each recommendation belongs in that guide. The order is an editorial judgment, not a star rating, a public vote or a claim to have compared every activity in London.

Our publisher and Cobble

London for a Tenner is published by Cobble Media, which also makes Cobble’s audio experiences. Cobble activity pages carry “A Cobble experience · from our publisher”. Guides explain the relationship in their editorial information. They receive no automatic first place and may be absent where they do not fit.

We do not describe this publication as independent of Cobble Media. Other featured organisations are not endorsing Cobble by appearing here.

What the prices mean

Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). “Free” means £0 for the specified activity; “For a Fiver” means £5 or less; “For a Tenner” means £10 or less. Unless stated otherwise, prices are per adult, or per listener for an audio purchase.

We use the price available to an ordinary adult, rather than a student, child or member concession. We identify advance-booking requirements, mandatory charges and any optional donation that must be removed to meet the budget. Transport, food and optional extras are outside the activity price.

Time-specific offers are labelled beside the price. A £5.99 solo purchase does not qualify as a £5 activity. A conditional price for two people must state the exact total, conditions and per-person basis before it can be used.

Checks and sources

Every listing has source links and a last-checked date. A check is a review of the published information relevant to the listing; it is not a claim that we visited in person or that every possible circumstance was audited. We do not invent visits, reviews, ratings or professional credentials.

Opening hours, offers and availability can change. We aim to recheck paid prices and offers weekly, and free admission and ordinary practical details monthly. Time-limited notices need a separate check when their dates approach. A changed price is updated wherever the same activity appears.

Organisation verification

“Verified by the organisation” means an authorised representative has confirmed specified factual details, with a date and scope recorded. It does not mean the organisation approves our ranking, endorses our publisher or has paid for inclusion.

“Checked against published information” is a different status. No listing receives organisation verification simply because we read its website or sent an email.

Time, suitability and accessibility

Suggested visit lengths and who an activity may suit are editorial judgments unless attributed to the provider. Durations exclude travel and queues. Family suggestions do not certify that an activity suits every age or child.

We summarise published access details where available and state when information is unconfirmed. We do not infer that a venue or walking route is step-free. Readers should check any essential access requirement with the organisation.

Corrections

We welcome corrections from readers and organisations. We check the evidence, update the relevant record and explain material changes where helpful. Verification is free. We never require a backlink, social post or positive mention.
